Amy Okrepkie, Owner, LMT, Reiki Master
“I just love what I do!”
I am licensed in Connecticut and New York and trained in pregnancy, Swedish, deep tissue, sports, infant, canine, Ashiatsu Oriental Bar Therapy, Thai massage and aromatherapy massage. I am also a Reiki Master/Teacher.
Originally with a Bachelor’s of Science in Sales and Marketing from Bentley University, I worked in the field in both New York City and Stamford, Connecticut. I enjoyed marketing, but disliked the idea of pushing papers around to sell products to clients that they didn’t need. I decided I wanted to help people and be more satisfied with what I was doing for a living. So, I went to work at Starbucks for two and a half years to put myself through massage school and to create a dream.
With my dream realized, I became a Connecticut Center for Massage Therapy graduate and am now an active professional member of the American Massage Therapy Association.
I started the Healing Touch back in 1999 on the second floor above Dr. Mike’s Ice Cream Shop in Monroe, Connecticut with a sign, a phone, a table, a big room and a lot of hope. Since then, we’ve progressed to Trumbull in an extension of the beautiful 1800’s built house. I saw the house and it just felt so good and peaceful. Believe it or not, the house just felt happy. The house, and being able to do the work we love, has made us very happy. And now I would like to introduce you to the rest of The Healing Touch staff:
Melissa, LMT, Reiki Practitioner
“Incorporating massage to relieve stress, tension and pain.”
Melissa is a Connecticut Licensed Massage Therapist, Connecticut Center for Massage Therapy graduate and an American Massage Therapy Association member. Her training has been in Swedish, deep tissue, pregnancy, sports massage, reflexology and Raindrop Therapy (Young Living Essential Oils).
Melissa is also a Reiki practitioner and enjoys working with people who want to unwind and release tension from everyday life stressors. She has been working for the Healing Touch since 2007.
Missy, LMT, OT
“I am passionate about the mind-body connection.”
Missy is a licensed massage therapist in Connecticut and a member of the American Massage Therapy Association. She is a graduate of the Connecticut Center for Massage Therapy. She is also a licensed occupational therapist. Missy is trained in Swedish, deep tissue and prenatal massage. She enjoys providing a space for clients to relax and de-stress while enhancing healthy muscle and connective tissue. She has been working for the Healing Touch since 2017.
Gaile, LMT, PTA
“Bringing your body into balance, one massage at a time.”
Gaile is a Connecticut Licensed Massage Therapist and a licensed Physical Therapist Assistant. She is a graduate of the Connecticut Center for Massage Therapy Clinical Program. She has been a practicing LMT since 2013. Gaile is trained in Swedish, deep tissue, sports, orthopedic and pregnatel massage. Her experience as a PTA informs her massage approach to musculoskeletal injury recovery. She enjoys blending multiple techniques to promote a relaxing and therapeutic experience for clients. Gaile has been working for the Healing Touch since 2025.
